What is TelePrEP?

TelePrEP is a convenient way to maintain your HIV negative status through a secure HIPAA compliant app on a smartphone, tablet, or computer. The patient can now virtually visit with a provider discreetly and safely at home and have their medications shipped to their home without the hassle of traveling to an office and to a pharmacy for their medications.

What is PrEP?

Pre-exposure Prophylaxis
-Pre: before
-Exposure: being in contact with HIV

There are currently 2 FDA approved medications- Truvada and Descovy. By taking the 1 pill a day, the risk of HIV infection is reduced by 92-99%. With the current rate of HIV infection in certain areas of the country, this prevention tool can be used in conjunction with other safe sex practices to help individuals remain HIV negative.

The use of the TelePrEP program has significantly reduced the risk of individuals becoming infected with HIV. Those who are at a higher risk for HIV and may benefit from taking PrEP include people such as:
done
Gay and bisexual men
done
Transgender women
done
Heterosexual men and women
done
Individuals who inject drugs
done
Individuals who do not use condoms all the time
done
Anyone who was diagnosed with an STI in the past three months
done
Individuals with multiple sex partners
* This is not an all inclusive list. If you think you may benefit from taking PrEP, contact us! * The use of PrEP does not cure HIV, and it does not work in protecting against other sexually transmitted infections (STI), or preventing pregnancies

How it works:

  1. Self or phone -enroll: We will give you an overview of the process and collect your information to make the process easy and quick, including your contact information, your pharmacy, and testing lab you plan to use.
  2. Get tested at a lab near you: We will coordinate getting you tested at a lab near you so that we can ensure that your body will not have adverse reactions to the medication.
  3. Virtually attend an appointment with a provider every 3 months for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, medication prescribing, and health evaluations.
  4. Get you medications shipped to your home.
